The inspiration for the TTMM collection came from futuristic and sci-fi movies such as "2001 Space Odyssey," "Star Wars," and "Predator." Albert Salamon was also influenced by the Tokyo Flash Japan portal and the NOOKA brand. The result is a collection of watchfaces that feel both familiar and futuristic.
What sets TTMM apart from other watchfaces is its simplicity and aesthetic appeal. The collection features 50 models for Pebble Time and 18 models for Pebble Time Round, offering over 600 color variations. Each watchface is a combination of digits and abstract infographics, creating original graphic time signs.
The TTMM collection was designed using Adobe Illustrator, with fonts for the watchfaces prepared using Type Tool 3. All bitmaps were edited in Adobe Photoshop. The programming was done using the Pebble SDK and XCODE.
TTMM watchfaces can be uploaded to Pebble watches through the TTMM app, available for both Android and iOS. The app allows users to view designs, read descriptions, purchase and upload watchfaces, and create a list of their favorite models.
The TTMM project started in March 2015 and was completed in February 2016 in Warsaw, Poland. The challenge for Albert Salamon was to design watchfaces in a new and innovative way, moving away from the traditional simulations of mechanical clocks and LCD screens. The aim was to create new signs and expressions of the 21st-century era, taking advantage of the possibilities offered by new technology.
The TTMM collection has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Interface, Interaction, and User Experience Design category in 2016. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate exceptional expertise, innovation, and artistic skill.
With TTMM, users can now choose their own time style and enjoy a unique and visually appealing way to tell time on their Pebble Time and Pebble Time Round smartwatches.
